Pumpkin Chuckin'
Fall Semester Tradition
Every fall semester, the Stony Brook ASME student chapter hosts one of its most exciting and anticipated traditions: Pumpkin Chuckin! This thrilling event combines creativity, engineering, and a bit of Fall spirit as students and campus clubs form teams to design and build their very own catapults or trebuchets.

Throughout the semester, participants work together to brainstorm, prototype, and construct their launch devices using real engineering principles. The competition culminates in a lively event where teams test their machines by launching pumpkins across a field, aiming for distance, accuracy, and style. Whether you're an engineering enthusiast or just looking for a fun challenge, this event is a fantastic way to apply your skills, collaborate with others, and compete for bragging rights and prizes!
